What we undertake, and what we don't.

What we do

We run your nightly backup, restore it into an isolated machine, and check that it came back — that it boots, that the database is sound, and that yesterday's data is in it. We show you the result and we tell you when it fails, including when a result simply never arrives.

What we don't

We are not your backup of last resort and we do not undertake to recover your business. We prove that a restore works; performing one in an emergency is a separate conversation, and one we are glad to have.

We hold no copy of your business data. That means we cannot produce your records for you — what we hold is the evidence that your own copies were sound, which is what we are being paid for.

Your side

Keep the agent running and let us know before you change what it protects — a server we do not know about is a server we cannot prove. Tell us promptly if an alert looks wrong; a false alarm nobody reports becomes an alarm nobody reads.

Fees

Priced per protected server, billed monthly or yearly in the currency of your market, and invoiced in advance. The price you start on is the price you keep: if we raise a plan's price, existing clients stay where they are unless we agree otherwise with you directly.

Invoices are due within 30 days. We take e-transfer and cheque, and we will tell you well ahead of any change to that.

Ending it

Either of us can stop with 30 days' notice, and we will not make it difficult. On the way out you keep your own backups — they were always yours and always on your own hardware — and we will hand over your evidence history if you want it.

Liability

Our liability is limited to the fees you have paid us in the preceding twelve months. We are not liable for losses arising from your own systems, your own data, or a failure you were told about and did not act on.

Changes to these terms

If we change them materially we will tell you before the change applies, not after. The current version is always the one on this page.
