The nightly flow

A runbook runs. A verdict arrives.

Every protected system has a runbook that knows how to back it up and how to prove it came back. Below is the one we run for a server — the most complete proof there is, and the shape the others follow.

The full-restore runbook

Four steps, and a verdict by morning.

  1. 01

    Copy the live system

Application-aware live-copy takes a clean image of your database while the business keeps running. Zero downtime.

  2. 02

    Replicate off the host

The backup set moves to a second machine with every file checksummed — a copy on the same disk is not a backup.

  3. 03

    Restore into a sandbox

The copy is restored into a standby virtual machine on an isolated network. This is the step almost nobody else does nightly.

  4. 04

    Prove it, with evidence

It boots, the database answers, structural checks pass, and yesterday's data is present. The verdict — and only the verdict — reaches your dashboard.

That is the full-restore runbook, the most complete proof we run. Systems that cannot be booted, or need not be, get runbooks of their own — a different set of questions, the same evidence, the same verdict by morning.

Built for real infrastructure

No inbound access. No shell. No appliance.

The on-site agent only ever calls out — no open ports, no VPN, no firewall changes. It executes a fixed set of named, signed operations; there is no remote shell for anyone to abuse, including us. Manual actions you trigger from the dashboard are cryptographically signed commands the agent verifies before acting.

Backups run on your schedule whether or not the internet is up, and report in when the line returns. If they can't report by their deadline, that silence itself raises an alarm.

Your role
Read the morning verdict. That's it.

Runs a niche system? That's our specialty.

Point-of-sale, legacy ERP, practice management — the systems generic backup tools copy blindly are the ones we know how to prove.
